New paintings

Playing with oil sticks...

I just started using oil stick for the first time a few days ago, and am loving them. Here are a couple of small paintings that I used acrylic, graphite and oil sticks.

Back in the saddle....studio:)

I am feeling happy, rested and somewhat energized. This cold weather has me moving slower than usual, one more cup of strong coffee should have me moving at a decent pace.

With a much needed break, I am back in the studio rethinking old canvas and working on some fresh ideas for a new body of work.

Back in the studio...

It has been a long lazy summer, most of my time was spent playing with my sweet boy and doing some much needed work on our little house, scraping away old paint, priming and painting and working in the garden, weeding, pruning and planting:) With summer break over and school back in session, I am back in the studio and ready to paint:) These last few mornings I have worked on small canvases, producing these simple little landscapes.

It has been raining for almost a week now, it's been nice playing in the rain:) but I am so ready for some sunshine!

I painted these little landscapes today.

I am hoping  for sunny skies in the next few days. I would love to open up the barn door so that I can let some sunlight  in the studio. 

A Rainy Saturday Morning

 Ashton and I have been saving tin cans so we could make some cool lanterns. We washed and filled the cans with water and put them in the freezer over night. A few days later we used a towel, screwdriver and hammer and made these nifty lanterns.

In the studio this morning, painting:) I really love watching Ash paint, he keeps me smiling and always leaves me feeling truly inspired.  Today we plan on visiting a few of our favorite galleries, Craighead Green and Conduit.   

Painting All Weekend:)

The weekend begins.  I just got back from a lazy walk with the girls/pooches, and am about to grab some toast and coffee. I have a full weekend, free to paint, read and play :)
